Solar Panel Installation

Solar PV panels are one of the most effective ways to reduce your electricity bills and lower your carbon emissions. By generating your own renewable electricity from daylight, you can take control of rising energy costs while making your home more energy efficient.

A typical solar panel installation is usually completed within 1–2 days, with minimal disruption to your home. Systems are designed to be low maintenance and can last 25 years or more, providing long-term savings and energy security.

Even in the UK climate, solar panels work efficiently on cloudy days and will generate electricity whenever there is daylight. South, east or west-facing roofs are all suitable, and our team will assess your property to ensure maximum performance.

Around 30–50% of a household’s electricity usage can be offset by solar panels, helping to significantly reduce reliance on the grid and protect against future price increases.

How do solar panels work?

Solar panels (also known as photovoltaic or PV panels) convert daylight into electricity using solar cells. The electricity generated is used to power your home first, reducing the amount you need to buy from your energy supplier.

Any unused electricity can either be:

  • Stored in a battery system for later use

  • Exported back to the national grid

Exported energy may be eligible for payments through the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), depending on your energy supplier and tariff.

Is my home suitable for solar panels?

Most homes are suitable for solar panel installation. Key factors include:

  • Roof orientation (south, east or west facing is ideal)

  • Roof size and available space

  • Minimal shading from trees or nearby buildings

  • Roof condition and structural integrity

A full site survey will confirm suitability and expected performance.

How long do solar panels last?

Solar panels are designed to last 25 years or more. Most systems come with long-term performance warranties, and inverters typically last 10–15 years before replacement may be required.

Solar PV systems require very little maintenance, usually just occasional cleaning and basic system checks.

Benefits of Solar Panels

  • Lower your electricity bills by generating your own power

  • Reduce reliance on energy suppliers and rising energy costs

  • Cut your carbon footprint with clean, renewable energy

  • Earn money by exporting unused electricity to the grid (SEG)

  • Increase long-term property value

  • Low maintenance with long system lifespan
