Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)

An assessment can take up to an hour, depending upon the level of detail you require or the complexity of the works. The assessment involves a technical survey of the home and it will identify the most effective energy saving measures that would benefit you. These are listed in a document called an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

Why do we need Energy Performance Certificates?

We offer EPC’s in and around the North London area for certain situations such as:

  • Letting a property

  • Selling a property

  • Grant Funding

Ratings come on a scale of A-G, with A being the best rating and G The lowest (With 'A' usually only achievable by super insulated properties with renewables).

The EPC also includes a Recommendation Report which lists the potential improvements that can be made to a property in order to:

  • Cut fuel bills

  • Improve energy efficiency

  • Help cut carbon emissions

How is the Report Created?

EPC's must be undertaken by a member of an approved Government Scheme, they are known as Domestic Energy Assessors (DEA's)

The Energy Assessors visit the property and take measurement, floor plans and photograph of all of the elements involved, then following this they will use software which uses a model for building efficiency called the Reduced Standard Assessment Procedure!! basically a way to calculate the efficiency of your property and where improvements can be made.
